JILL'S COOKIN' AND TESTIN' THINGS TO GRACE THIS PAGE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
STAY TUNED.
RECOMMENDED NOSH SPOT
FOR COFFEE AND MORE TRY-
MERLE'S- this sweet little coffee shop and cafe is right smack next to the
Fransisco El stop on the Brown Line. 4642 N. Fransisco 773-588-3732 (where
Fransisco and Manor Avenues come together) Chicago, IL
In addition to coffee and coffee drinks, you can snack on bakery desserts,
homemade quiche, soups and chili as well as tasty sandwiches like turkey
meatloaf, grilled cheese and bacon, roast beef on rye, reubens, tuna salad
and grilled chicken on focaccia bread. The selection is always changing.
The vanilla iced tea is very nice... Get some food and sit in Manor Park and
watch the El trains chug past-cuz out here on the brown line, they're on the
ground. Bring your little boys- cuz boys love trains!
Summer means that Merle's grill and patio are open for alfresco dining,
grilled fare such as burgers and steak and chicken sandwiches, salads and
weekend activities.
Activities such as-
Sunday July 11, 2004 Jill Thompson and artist Barbara Yonan will be hosting
coloring contests and facepainting in the back patio.
